SUMMARY:COMBATTING PREDATORY ACADEMIC PRACTICES BY CREATING AWARENESS WITHIN THE OAAD NETWORK AND BEYOND
DESCRIPTION:Register for IAP's event here and join the conversation https://www.eventbrite.com/e/predatory-academic-practices-regional-perspectives-and-learning-tickets-175567275447 The Asia regional event is on 7th December. \nAccording to Times Higher Education in their most recent release of global university ranking\, only 3 African universities made it to top 300 in the world\, first at 183 and the others in the 251 - 300 bracket. This is not a good representation of a continent of 1.3 billion predominantly young people. \nInteracademy Partnership (IAP) carried out a global survey which suggests that African contributes a high percentage to total global predatory academic practices (PAP) which is blamed on many factors ranging from innocent involvement to intentional fraud. \nWhatever the reason may be\, we think that it is inimical to the development of higher education in Africa and this has numerous ripple implications. \n \nSo OAAD decided to get involved in the battle against this monster pursuing the following objectives to: \ni) innovatively raise awareness of PAP among researchers within OAAD’s network in ways that are realistic to the African context\, \nii) engage relevant authorities in African universities to ascertain their understanding of how PAP may affect their university ranking\, and \niii) enhance awareness within OAAD’s network\, the wider academic community and funding agencies on spotting and dissuading PAP. To achieve these goals\, OAAD intends to run hybrid workshops and symposiums\, conduct direct interviews\, develop online contents\, and create new organizational unit to perpetuate the awareness of PAP. It is expected that this approach will lead to multidimensional and measurable outcomes which\, we believe\, would have long-term impact of raising the ranking of African researchers and institutions of higher learning. \nLearn more about predatory academic practices here https://www.interacademies.org/project/predatorypublishing \nhttps://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02906-8?utm_source=Nature+Briefing&utm_campaign=5fde1c3420-briefing-dy-20211028&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c9dfd39373-5fde1c3420-44418525 \n\nhttps://africanacademicdoctors.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IAP-EVENT-MP4.mp4

SUMMARY:INITIATIVE DE CONVERSION DE THEMES DE RECHERCHE EN PRODUITS & SERVICES

SUMMARY:Initiative De Conversion De Themes De Recherche En Produits & Services
\n\n\n\nLe Comité d'Organisation Conjoint (COC)

SUMMARY:Result-oriented Research as a Product of High Quality Research Proposals and Proper Management
DESCRIPTION:The world has since moved from the usual economic landscape to a new and more sustainable one that is not built on exploration of natural resources but on utilisation of knowledge generated from research\, innovation and technology. To this end\, countries and and organizations around the world are continually allocating funds for research but researchers have to prove that they merit the funds before they can get such. In this global webinar\, Prof. Daramola came to us with practical knowledge on how t0 get the money that is required for making research happen and how to get expected results by managing it properly.
